30 Things I want to do & experience in my 30's!

Sitting on a back field during a storm. Fun panoramic, those light rays are Lightning.
Today marks the first day of my 30's. It's something I've been thinking about for almost a year.
"I'm going to be turning thirty." It would be a lie if I said it never had the thought that, "I may be turning thirty soon." But it never stuck and I shut it down because I knew I would soon be turning thirty. Which isn't something that collectively, we ever thought would happen.

It's bizarre to realize and difficult to explain, but it never occurred to me (or many of my parts) that I would able to one day say that and then achieve it. My life has been full of contradictions, chaos and some fuckin terrifying horrible shit at times, but here we are. Thirty.

Over the last several months I've been trying to determine what it is that I, myself, want in life. My parts and I are working on this together...We put together this comprehensive list of things I want in my thirties...

Age 22-23

  1. A home. An actual home. For my husband and I, as well as my parts. A place we can feel safety and consistency. We've lived many places, but never felt "at home."
  2. I want to become fluent in a second language. Only the conversational aspects of it, but still I want to be able to communicate conversationally and am looking forward to it.
  3. Master a new recipe
  4. Get my passport
  5. Plan a trip to another country & go!
  6. Make an entire head to toe outfit from scratch.
  7. Plant a tree at the aforementioned house.

  14. Better my physical health, if at all possible finally get health insurance.
  15. Continue working as a mental health advocate & book more speaking engagements.
  16. Paint one mural per year, at least 8ft. x 12ft.
  17. Keep a daily Journal noting the good, bad, ugly and mundane things that occur each day of life in my 30's.
  18. Run/walk a marathon for a cause, instead of photographing the event.
  19. Attend a cities Comic-Con
  20. Go paintballing or to a rage event. (Destruction because it's needed at times)

    1. Thanks very much... I've been hospitalized more times than I'd like to admit (physical/ICU etc not psych) and had someone do this for me years ago. It's always stuck with me.

  5. I love posts like this! I did a 33 before 33 post on my 23rd birthday but I don't like to look at it anymore because it's so daunting haha! I love reading other people's lists like these though and I love the range of things you have on here - all very doable for a 10 year span! Happy birthday for the other day and good luck on completing this! :) xx

  6. Wonderful to see all your throwback photos, you have certainly had some different looks over the years but they all really suited you! Sounds like you have some really worthwhile goals too, especially paying off someone's medical bills - what a kind gesture!
